Registration for the workshop on the Market Monitoring findings on wholesale electricity and gas markets, which will take place on 21 September in Ljubljana, will be open until 16 September. Until mid-September stakeholders can provide inputs here on the gas “congestion indicators” included in the European Commission Guidelines on Congestion Management Procedures.

Workshop on the wholesale findings of ACER Market Monitoring Report

The workshop will focus on the state of the EU wholesale electricity and gas markets in 2015.
Contrary to previous years, the Agency will present separate chapters of the Market Monitoring Report once they are ready. This will allow for the earlier publication of the wholesale electricity and gas chapters, which will be available on the Agency’s website by mid-September. The workshop will provide an opportunity for stakeholders to hear first-hand from the Agency about its key findings on both markets, and to discuss them with the authors of the report.

Call for evidence on congestion indicators

ACER call for Evidence on the “congestion indicators” for gas included in the European Commission Guidelines on Congestion Management Procedures invites stakeholders to propose alternative or additional “congestion indicators” to be used by the Agency in its congestion analysis, and to comment on the FDA UIOLI. According to this piece of EU legislation, National Regulatory Authorities (NRAs) shall require Transmission System Operators (TSOs) to apply the Firm Day-Ahead Use-It-Or-Loose-It mechanism (FDA UIOLI) at the interconnection points where ACER finds that gas capacity demand exceeded the offer.
